Disappointed as a prior 8 and 7 owner: Traditionally, I am a gel resolution lover. I loved the gel resolution 7 and 8 was even better.
This shoe has better base support but the rest is a NO go in the folks who designed the X.
Where did the GEL snug firm awesome feel go? I feel like I’m in an extra wide box. Unable to tighten these shoes enough, again and again.
Sucks that we can’t buy the prior model.
Get the new version out ASAP, this X version is a very unfortunate fail.
Great: Real and very stylish
Terrible compared to GR9: Im a 5.0+, former D1 player and coach tennis all day, and these shoes are very poor compared to the GR line of shoes. Slippage, wear out in the inside heal, toe box angled, etc. Please go back to the GR9 or GR8 design or at least make those available again
Terrible, Terrible, Un-wearable: I've worn Asics Gel Resolutions for over 7 years. I bought these without trying them on in the exact same size as previous generations and I can't stand them. They feel narrow, stiff, longer (?), and caused foot pain after even a short duration of walking--much less court time. I have since stopped using them after 3 tries on the court. I won't even use them as a walking/lifestyle shoe. A great shoe is one that you trust so much that you don't even think about it
Great shoe, best I've tried!: After burning through a few pairs of solution speeds i was looking for a little more comfort, these have been so phenomenal. Best pair of tennis shoes I've had so far, so glad i ignored the reviews of those mad they’re not res 9s, these are fantastic. I went a full size down from normal, (and 1/2 size down from what i had in speeds) and fits like a glove, would definitely attempt to try them on and find the sizing you need, thats the only bizarre part.
Caused me pain: This brand has been amazing, tried and tru through the years but when I was using these they started to really hurt my knees. Asics is still the best for tennis shoes but Asics Gel Resolution X is a swing and a miss.
Awful shoe: Terrible heel slippage. Can't believe they changed the GR9 for this. Also felt really stiff. Do better with the GR11 please Asics. Or bring back the GR9 which was a great shoe. I am a 4.5-5.0 all court player and have worn Asics for years.
Disappointing: I've worn Asics for tennis and running for many years. Always thought they were worlds ahead of everyone else.
That's why I'm very sad to learn that this model has taken a giant step backwards.
1st, the weight. Almost a pound. You gotta be kidding. 2nd, the laces: awkward, unbalanced, and just plain weird. 3rd, no mobility; they don't allow rapid changes oh direction like it's predecessors. I hope they return to the previous designs.
Good shoes. would recommend: I liked the Gels resolutions 6, 7, 8, and 9s. Great shoes. I have worn Adidas Nike, Diadora, Fila and more. Shoes enhancement and improvements are rarely needed. The resolutions are the best shoes I have worn. I have heard horrible things about the tens. I wore them around the house for about ten hours before I played tennis. NO BREAK IN ON THE COURTS was required. All gel resolutions I have used did not require improvement. The 10 is more stable in a small wa
Not a Fan: I have been wearing Revolutions for years. Why make a major change.
Improved Fit: It's interesting to see the variation of reviews here. I have been wearing Resolution Gels since version 7. I actually like the 10 far more than the 8 or 9. It feels slightly wider in the toe box which is huge. I actually like the slightly higher ankle stability as well. Yes it is a different shoe but works better for me.
Side note: as I get older I'm super sensitve to shoes (impacts, feet, legs, back etc) and do agree with sentiments here that the brands shouldn't ra
By far the worst: The update of this amazing shoe is beyond terrible. The fit is stiff and awful in every way. Even the wide fit is stiff and uncomfortable especially on the inner side of the shoe. They have taken one of the most comfortable and supportive shoes, a true classic, and destroyed it.
Great Tennis Shoes: I had a great experience shopping with Tennis Warehouse. I purchased the ASICS Gel Resolution X, and while the price was the same as other retailers, Tennis Warehouse really stood out by offering a 6-month warranty on the soles. That extra protection made the decision easy.
Their website was easy to navigate, checkout was smooth, and the shoes arrived quickly. The fit was perfect right out of the box. I’ll definitely be shopping with Tennis Warehouse again for future tennis
Great quality!!!!: It’s great quality and reasonable price. But I have to return it because size was not matching.
My Favorite Pickleball Shoes: These shoes are really nice for pickleball. They are very comfortable. They are not the lightest weight shoes but they come up a little higher on the ankle than some others which gives a very secure and supportive feeling.
Asics Gel 10: It is a wonderful shoe for senior players like me, it offers so much of cushion and at the same time not heavy on the feet. It eggs us to run after each and every ball with ease. Love this..
Not as bad as everyone says: Not sure I get all the hate here. Yes, it's a different shoe. Things change, people. But the upsides to the shoe are pretty great honestly. Stability and durability are off the charts. The fit is now more accommodating so I can recommend to my non-narrow feet friends, and they're comfyyy. Also good luck even wearing through these bad boys to get a new pair. By the time you've burned through the outsole the Gel 11 will probably be out.
Quite good confort: I been using PRINCE shoes since 90’s, but this time I decide to try another brand, and thx God it wasn’t a wrong decision. These chose are confortable, and I am playing really smooth…
Just no: heavy, uncomfortable… completely different from r9
How To Ruin A Shoe: The ASICS Gel Resolution was my go to shoe for so many years. It fit my foot perfectly, offered the perfect balance of support and cushioning, and was durable.
I wore this new version once and had to stop because it was hurting my feet. The insole is paper thin. The fit has changed too and doesn’t offer the superior fit it once had.
And the outer shoe is mostly made of rubbery material that offers very little ventilation.
I can understand marketing folks wanting to change c
Midnight Cream Gel Res shoes: Both shoes rubbed against the bone on top side of feet; quite painful.
Really disappointed
Bring Back the Old Design: OK, so it's not really a 1-star shoe, but it's a 1-star shoe versus the Gel Res 9.
I've been playing the Gel Res exclusively for the last 7 years. Until the Gel Res X redesign, the line has been the best of all possible worlds.
The previous versions were perfection: Extremely durable (I'm just under 200lbs, do a lot of running and sliding on hard court, and this shoe actually holds up), agile (despite being a heavier shoe, they're low to the ground and not over-cush
Issue: I’m not happy at all with this product, after to use them, they take forever to get dry and it’s something that the tennis players don’t like it since we have to play comfortable, I had them one time they were really good but this one that I have now probably they are not good probably they have a issue from fabrics. It’s something that bothers me a lot.
Resolution X: This shoe is a game changer. The best tennis and pickleball shoe I have ever worn. I read a lot of reviews before I purchased them and was concerned because they were not great. However I trusted that Asics has made nothing but great shoes for years and I was correct. Truly a game changing shoe.
Asics gel revolution tennis shoes: Excellent. Very comfortable. Arrived on time. Highly recommended
Purple tennis shoes: I bought these for my high school son, he’s always worn the Rafa tennis shoes previously. These were as close as I could find to his school colors ( not quite). They were supposed to be a “get by” pair until I could find something else. He liked them so much that I bought him a second pair.
Great blend of comfort and stability!: I think it's a very good tennis shoe—very comfortable and at the same time provides enough support to feel secure when running side to side or forward. It's a great blend of comfort and stability, definitely worth it. One important note: you should order this shoe half a size down. I'm normally a 9.5, but based on recommendations I ordered a size 9, and it was the right decision.
The most discomfort ever from a shoe: The raised inner wall of the shoe is digging strongly into my ancles causing severe pain when using these shoes for extended periods of time. Not recommended. This is clearly design flaw, hard to comprehend how they did not catch this problem when so many users reporting it. Cannot use the shoes and Asics does not stand behind their product ! Shame on them! Previous release of this shoe was great, this ver. X is not usable for me.
Comfortable and beautiful: I have been using it for 30 days and I really like it. I have other Asics models and this one is very good too.
Better than previous model! But…: These are actually better than the previous model, but the tricky thing is you have to find out your new specs, because its size/fit changed. With the Resolution 9, I used size 10 2E (Wide). For these resolution Xs, size 10 regular (not wide) actually fits me best. So I guess the regular sizes are wider now. The previous models were way too narrow, even the wide one was a little too tight. These Xs are also softer and more comfortable, as well as being a little
I think it's a great shoe: I couldn't wear the Gel 9s. Have a low arch and high instep and my foot seemed to bust out of the top. I suffer from achilles tendonitis from time to time so opt for shoes with a lot of support. These are great. I've seen a lot of negative reviews, but the Xs are comfortable, have great support, and provide me with great movement. I did put in an orthodic insole. Break-in period is a little longer than other shoes maybe but not a big deal after a couple of weeks.
gel 10: not sure what happened but these shoes are the worst. asics took a huge step backwards from the 9's. hopefully they go back to something similar to the 9's next year. I will need to find a different brand until them. so disappointed in asics
Changes to the fit work well for my feet.: I read a couple of reviews complaining about asics making a roomier foot box for this version of gel resolution. I order already order asics a half size down to get the right fit and the extra room for my wider front foot is actually really nice. Some break in time is needed as the sidewalls in these are very pronounced and feel harsh at first. My last gel res were the 8. I tried the court ff which are excellent in terms of comfort support and general
Heavier and Not Yet Broken In: The two most noticeable differences from Gel Resolution 9 are:
- Increased weight. After playing a while, I don't really notice it any more.
- The lack of flexibility in the toe crease. It still makes a sound when I walk which is strange. I don't notice it impacting my footwork, it's just not preferred.
I prefer the gel resolution 9s to these.
I tried the Asics Court FF as an alternative and they were worse than the Gel Resolution X's, so I just keep wearing t
Better: I read the terrible reviews, but still tried it and like it. Wider and slightly longer than Res 9 and that works for me. Took a couple of sets to break in. I'm a 4.0 doubles player.
A lighter tennis shoe: I have used Asics for very long and love them. The shoe I used before this was specific to clay tennis courts and is very nice. This light shoe fits even better and its lightness feels wonderful. I am so glad I made this choice. And of course I am grateful that I continue to buy from Tennis Warehouse, they have been superb for years and years.
Great competitive tennis shoes: I bought it for my son whose playing junior tennis. He really love the feel of the shoes but from what i can see they dont last too long. If I give rating would be 9 for feel and 6-7 for the outsole durability
Excellent Service and Products: I recently purchased a pair of Asics Gel Resolution X tennis shoes. The shoes are very comfortable and stable on the court. I highly recommend the Asics for clay and grass court play. Tennis-warehouse has excellent customer service and makes it very easy to purchase and return products. And of course, price and availability are givens! Why shop anywhere else!
Love this shoe!: The number one reason we buy this product is for its outsoule guarantee. My son spends every moment he can on the tennis and pickleball courts. He goes through shoes. The guarantee allows means I know if will last 6 months and if it doesn't we will get another pair through tennis warehouse on the house.
FYI when I look around the tennis courts at his college matches, this is by far the most popular shoe being worn by men's college tennis athletes. They are durable and attrac
Great Shoe!: Finally an Asics tennis shoe that is true to size. Nice room in the toe box. Bravo Asics!
Was so excited for the X....: I was so excited for the GRX that I bought 2 pairs. Mistake.
I loved the 8s and 9s, but these new Xs are heavy, painful, and feel more like how the new Barricades feel (stiff, uncomfortable, heavy, difficult to get a good tight feel).
Every time I play in these shoes my feet hurt.
Not every shoe is going to be perfect. I hope Asics listens to the feedback and comes up with a GR11 in the future that supports the legacy
RES 10: Most comfortable Res Series if you need room
Cool shoe just couldn't get a good fit: Very innovative. I recommend trying it, but it just didn't work for me. Gel Challenger I found to be a better fit and better value. GC is just a great shoe, at least for me. Worth comparing both. TW has a wonderful return policy, thank you.
Thought they were gonna be good.: Shoelace broke after a week of play and have me a blister. Durability is good, except for the laces.
ASICS Gel Resolution X: Like the comfort, style and quality.
Quality is excellent.: Little loose at the Toe box.
Asics Gel Resolution X: Unlike the Gel Resolution IX, the X is much larger. I wear a size 10.5 in all prior Asics shoes, I bought the 10.5 and had to return it. The 10 even feels to large. Also, the fit of the shoe is off. After playing for over an hour, the instep of my foot is painful. Stick with the Gel Resolution IX.
Great tennis shoes: Comfort, stability, and support during lateral movements. Still trying them but seems to be a good one
Thanks for the heads up: What on earth drives a company to change up a very popular design of shoe. I bought a whole bunch of Resolution 8's and am staring to run low so I thought I'd see what the latest version was up to. Sounds like a real disaster.
Time for a change?: Been wearing Gel Resolution for past 10-12 years, this is the first version that no longer fits my foot. Way too sloppy in toe box. I bought the K-Swiss Hypercourt Supreme 2 and am pleasantly surprised on overall fit. A little easier on pocketbook too.
