Fairly different from first version: I've owned the first version for a long time now, but I do have a few different paddles that I'll play around with or let friends borrow. The first version of the Icon paddle is unique in that the surface is rubbery like. It plays very well in my opinions. I couldn't figure this paddle out, it seems to be about above average in all categories, but not excellent, except in maneuverability. This feels more like a typical fine grit paddle.
