Gearbox GX2 Power Hybrid — Pros: Great paddle. Bought as a backup to my Joola Scorpeus Pro IV 16mm and is slowly taking over as my main. Need some time to break in to get its true feel, which is on the softer side but still hits hard and is controllable with touch shots. The handle has a nice length and the 4” circ leaves room for customization with a hesacore if needed. — Cons: Face gets marked up and dirty pretty quick, have to clean after each play session for best results.
Great paddle…but: Very happy so far. Good pop off the paddle but still has a good feel. The “but” is I’m on my second one. The first paddle only lasted 3 months before the handle came loose. I’m hoping it was a fluke and this one holds up.

Gearbox GX2 power hybrid: I’ve compared this paddle to the newly released Jolla Perseus Ben John’s model and both CRBN foam core paddles. The GX2 hybrid has a larger sweet spot, similar power when needed, and greater touch/control. Sent the others back and absolutely love everything about this foam/carbon fiber core. No worries about core crushing and so far no change in feel or power after the first few days of breaking it in.

Great paddle... until it broke in: Loved this paddle for the first 12 hours. I had been maining the Surtr so there were a lot of similarities with its performance. Solid power for drives, serves, etc. The pop was noticeable, easy for attacks/counters but not too much to make dinks, drops, and resets unmanageable. Spin was okay, you can generate it with serves/returns but not as much from the kitchen line for dinks.
The issue was the break-in, for me it was around 12 hours of play time. Noticea

The GX2 Power is Gearbox’s best paddle yet – a true premium power paddle that finally adds touch and forgiveness to the mix. Not for everyone (I’d personally pick a JOOLA Pro IV paddle at this price point), but especially for Gearbox fans, this is a game-changer.
