The Ruby is widely praised for exceptional spin, control, and a generous sweet spot, making it particularly appealing to spin-focused players and those with a tennis background. However, some reviewers find it lacks sufficient power and pop compared to other paddles, and it may offer less forgiveness on off-center hits.

Excellent paddle for spin and control: I like this paddle a lot for the control it gives. I noticed the improvements, especially the spin on my serves.

Six Zero Ruby- My Review: I'm an ex-tennis player. I played tennis using a lot of top, back, and side spin. I got talked into playing Pickleball, so I needed a paddle. I ended up buying the Ruby 16mm due to a friend's recommendation and due to the fact that online reviews stated that the Ruby was excellent for creating spin. It's my first paddle, so I can't compare it to any other, but in my opinion it creates an enormous amount of spin, so much so that it is troubling for the weak and the dec

Disappointed with power: Maybe I was expecting more than I should have but the power element is similar to my year old paddle (different brand). Control seems solid but I do notice a little less forgiveness with mis-hits. I would have returned it but lost track of time and missed my window.

Controlled playing: Just bought 6.0 Ruby. A little longer handle is very helpful, and the larger sweet spot, and ball reflection is crisp and clear. Love it… would buy another.

BUY IT ALREADY!!!: Great feel out of the box! I have added weight to the throat and handle for my setup. It has an insanely good sweetspot and responsive feel. Plenty of spin and power to allow for taking bigger swings at the ball if you are coming from a tennis background!

This feels like two of my favorite paddles—the Pickleball Apes Pro Line Energy S and the Six Zero DBD—had a baby. The Ruby is basically the DBD with a Kevlar® face. It gets great spin too, so will appeal particularly to spin players. If that's not you, though, I'd recommend sticking with the cheaper DBD as both are great all-court performers.
