Nice looking paddle: I purchased the paddle due to wanting a paddle to help with control. My only issue after playing with it for 3 weeks is the material on the handle is already showing wear????? I don’t know if this paddle uses quality material but I do enjoy the control.
This has an elongated handle instead of a longer paddle surface/: I was looking for an elongated paddle, not handle. Even the paddle surface was smaller than the one I have now. This paddle had a punch, but I was missing someshots I would normally get.
***PBC Response*** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! We know that not every paddle will be right for every player which is why we offer our 30-day no questions asked test drive allowing you to send the paddle back within 30 days o
Selkirk SLK Halo XL: I bought this for my wife who wanted control and a longer handle. She does not like the usual size of the end cap on most paddles including this one. The extra length helps her two handed backhands. She has more control with this paddle.
Halo XL review: This paddle gives me plenty of power, but also helps with control at the net. I’m loving it. The handle on this paddle is wonderful. Highly recommend this paddle:)))
Selkirk Halo XL: Love it. Changed from Gamma Needle to this. Great for spin control.
Halo XL control: Really like the paddle. The longer handle is great. Also like how it seems to be weighted more on the top. I am also able to create more spin than I can with my Amped S2.
SLK Halo by Sellkirk: I like it, good feel, good pop but I thought it was bit bigger of a paddle. (My Fault). Just purchased a new Selkirk that fits my needs.
Hits well solid paddle, grip gets slick easily..: Would like to try 16mm paddle
Hits well solid paddle, grip gets slick easily..: Like the elongated surface and the long Tennis style handle. Would like to try it in the 16mm
Loving This Paddle: It took me a few games to get used to this paddle as my previous paddle had a very short handle and was lighter. But now that I have adjusted I loved the longer handle for two-handed backhand shots. The ball pops nicely off the face and the carbon fiber face is helping with placement and spin. This paddle also has a slightly longer reach than my old Paddletek Bantam TS Pro which helps me reach out for those out of the way shots.
Selkirk paddle: I love this paddle, the way it feels in my hand and the play on the ball. It is a great all around paddle.
Great for intermediate players: Enjoy playing with this paddle, I get a lot of control and spin from the raw carbon face. Power is good but not overdone with decent control on shots. Seems to have a smaller sweet spot than my Engage leading to some dead hits. Will take some more time to find the best way to play with this one!
halo xl: excellent spin capability, lite weight easy to change grips

(2) Build quality was very good. (9-10)
(3) Size of face was acceptable. (10-10)
(4) Grip was great for 2- handed backhand. (10-10)
(5) Spin was ok, not super impressed. (7-10)
(6) Control was very good (10-10)
(7) Power seemed to be lacking. This was the primary reason for my returning this paddle. (5-10)
(8) Value at $140 was good. (7-10)
Final thoughts: For $140 and this being a 700 carbon faced paddle, if you’re looking for a very g
Excellent paddle! : If you're looking for a carbon fiber paddle, the SLK Halo is a great place to start! I honestly have more confidence in my shot placement with this paddle, and I do with a Joola Hyperion.
