Right where I’m supposed to be.: I’m an 3.5 player and I’ve really enjoyed the Selkirk VANGUARD Power Air S2. It has great pop on drives and put-aways, and the spin is noticeable right away. It leans toward power, but once I adjusted, I still felt confident with control at the net. Overall, it’s been a fun paddle that’s helped me play more aggressive. Definitely happy with it.

Selkirk VANGUARD Power Air - S2: I have the Halo, which I wore out, The S2 Vanguard Control, which I love, Ben Johns Joola, Meh, Not so much for the price, And a CRBN tru-foam which I got for half price, but it's just ok. Selkirk Vanguard Power Air - S2 Paddle: I was surprised how much better my game is with this paddle. At first I kept hitting long shots until I got a sense of the sweet spot and the spring. Then I had some great power shots and some easy dink shots that used to be harder to place. The grip is a little short for my hand but it didn't take much for me to adjust and make some good returns.

Ping pong anyone?: It’s so thin and seems fragile. Appreciate the lightness, but it’s a glorified ping pong paddle and I’m not getting any noticeable power out of this “power” paddle. I’ve already reverted back to my control paddle. Bummed. Wish I knew the boom was coming out and this paddle would be a dud, because I would have saved my money and got an actual power paddle. Disappointed :(

It's not the paddle it's the player: Not in love with it. I purchased an elongated paddle with a shorter grip. The paddle came with the shorter grip (yea!) but is in no way elongated. I will continue to use it from time to time in an effort to adjust. My partners have told me I hit the ball a lot harder with it.

Selkirk Vanguard Power Air S2: The paddle sounds broken when I hit the ball. Many times the ball does jump off the paddle but makes a weird sound compared to all the paddles in the gym. I like the control on third shot drops. I added tungsten weights and it helped my control. It is nice and light for paddle quickness at the net.

I am not sure why, but playing with this paddle has made my hand, very uncomfortable and What is left up my index finger tips split lightly. So far so good: I upgraded from the Onix Z5. This feels similar in terms of weight but is less "poppy" than the Z5 which is what I was looking for. Power is similar and spin is also more. I'm not confident how long the spin will last though because it feels like the grittiness is already getting smoothed out the more I play.

Happy so far: I haven't got to use it enough to form a strong opinion but I can definitely tell the difference from my old beginners paddle. Its weighted nicely and it has a nice sweet spot.
