Pickleball Product Review:

GAMMA
The GAMMA Photon Outdoor Pickleballs receive highly polarized reviews, with many users praising their value and durability for recreational play, while others report significant quality control issues including poor bounce, thin construction, and seam failures. The balls appear suitable for casual players and ball machines but fall short of tournament-grade performance standards.

Poorly Manufactured: Bought the Gamma Photons because of the USAPA approval and the price. But, I suppose you get what you pay for, and sadly these balls are poorly designed. I have three major qualms: 1. A thin outer layer compared to other outdoor balls...Dura and Franklin. 2. Pressure cracks already present before even played with, more than likely the thin plastic and the pressure from the drilling of the holes. 3. The molding of the two sides was uneven from ball to ball. Some balls ha

Defective balls: I ordered 2 packs of 3balls. Two balls split at the seam within 30 minutes of play. I have only played with one other ball so not sure if others are defective. PB Central promptly shipped me 1 ball after contacting them.

Pickleball paddles and balls: When the order was shipped, the balls were missing. I sent an email to try and resolve the problem, and Pickleball Central was courteous and responsive and quickly shipped the missing items. I would absolutely recommend this company. Also, the quality of the equipment sent is excellent.

Good Value : I needed to replace the balls for my ball machine. For less than 2 dollars per ball, it was a very good choice. I have been using various brands of ball for recreational play. And while Gamma may not be the best, it is still above average. I understand that many tournament players will use only balls being used in tournaments, Gamma balls are just fine for recreational play and especially if you need about a hundred balls for the ball machine.

No bounce: The Gamma balls are flat, dead, don't bounce well. These are a total waste of money unless you've never played pickleball before and can tolerate them not bouncing. You should describe them more accurately so that others won't be wasting their money like I did. ***PBC REPLY: Thanks for your feedback. Customers used to a Dura Fast 40 or Onix Fuse G2 will notice a difference in these balls. The GAMMA Photon is a newer ball to the market, so our testing and evaluation continues.

Outdoor Pickleball: The GAMMA outdoor balls are very thin and don't have the bounce you look for. The seams are not smooth. I would look for other outdoor balls.
